About: Meet The Maker

Hi, I'm Sierra!

A lawyer-turned-knitwear designer, I'm is the working hands behind Knitting Wonders and intricately knit, crochet, create, and model all pieces. I'm also the content creator on the Knitting Wonders blog, writing various articles along with managing all social media accounts. My husband, Bank, also helps me out by handling most of the marketing strategies, technical aspects, and the nature photography of me and my knitwear.

My passion for knitting began over two decades ago when three elderly ladies in a tiny local knitting shop in the heart of Kentucky taught me the basic techniques -- ever since, I've been hooked! Since then, my love for fiber arts has only deepened and grown to incorporate other crafts such as crocheting, weaving, and macramé. As avid hikers in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, we ensure Knitting Wonders knitwear items are luxuriously soft and warm enough to wear during the brutal winters or during outdoor winter activities. In fact, most of Knitting Wonders knitwear designs were thought of due to a need for warm and stylish accessories while we were hiking mountains. The extreme weather conditions at high altitude hiking calls for extra-special knitwear, and that's why many of Knitting Wonders designs were created!

I have a strong history of selling high-quality knitwear accessories and bohemian and modern home decor items since we first began in 2011. I pride myself on excellent customer service, selling premium items made from the highest quality fibers and materials, and creating stylish fashion pieces that can be enjoyed and shared for generations. Ever since we began this journey, our one-of-a-kind handmade items are created individually with the utmost attention to detail and continue to be inspired by the latest fashion trends. I love creating pieces that are not only modern and trendy, but also remain classic and timeless staples in your wardrobe that you come back to season after season!
